

AUSTIN REGGAE FESTIVAL | BRANDING
The 2018 Austin Reggae Festival runs April 20-22 at Auditorium Shores. The Festival brings three days of incredible Reggae and Afro-Caribbean music in addition inter-national food and arts vendors to the city’s most picturesque outdoor venue. The Festival benefits the Central Texas Food Bank – over the last decade, this event has raised more than $1,000,000 to help feed hungry families in the Central Texas region. Headline acts will be announced in mid-January (via their website) and advance tickets will go on sale on

CHALLENGE:
This project will incorporate the research, design development and implementation of a rebrand over a broad range of brand touch-points — including: print; digital media and merchandising — for the Austin Reggae Music Festival. The logotype must be versatile enough to be used as a square (stacked), horizontal, and favicon element for social media
OBJECTIVE:
Together as a team we developed a new logo and branding system. This allows for the client to interchange certain logos for a desired touchpoint and for our theme, tag-line, and overall feeling to bleed throughout the festival.

LOGOS
All symbols were hand-rendered using traditional methods (sticks, grasses, natural implements and ink) before digitizing for further refinements.

As a fundraising opportunity, we are suggesting a partnership with a local Austin area custom guitar maker to create a 20th anniversary guitar signed by the artists from the 2018 Austin Reggae Festival. This one of a kind guitar could then be auctioned off to enthusiasts or corporate entities with all funds going towards the mission of the Central Texas Food Bank.
